Does history matter?

In my opinion, history does matter. History shapes what our today is, and our today will continue to shape what the future will be. Civilization evolves through history, thus forming our culture today. Not only does it it create our present, but it also forms an appreciation for our heritage and how it's formed. History is also important because it makes more sense of the present. Without knowing our history, the life we live in would be misunderstood and a mystery.
